Urgent dental care · Toongabbie
Toothache, facial swelling, a broken tooth or a knocked-out tooth. Contact us during opening hours, and our team will aim to see you as soon as practicable, based on your symptoms and the clinical schedule.
Reception confirms the examination fee when you book, so you know it before you come in. Treatment to relieve the problem is quoted separately. Conditions apply.
What an urgent appointment covers:
A few details is all we need. We’ll confirm a time that suits you.
See our Privacy Policy.
The urgent examination fee is confirmed with you when you book and covers the inclusions listed on this page. Sending an enquiry doesn’t create a treatment plan — what’s suitable for you is assessed at your appointment by an AHPRA-registered practitioner. Conditions apply.
Some dental problems may need hospital help already, not a dental chair. Call 000 or go straight to your nearest emergency department if breathing, speaking or swallowing feels restricted by swelling, if swelling is tracking towards the eye or neck, if bleeding won't stop with firm pressure, or if a fever is climbing alongside facial swelling.
Outside those signs, most toothache and dental trauma is better assessed by a dentist. Call us as soon as you can so the cause gets diagnosed and treated properly, rather than managing it with painkillers alone.

Tell reception what is happening rather than booking a routine appointment, so they can set aside the right amount of time for you.
Describe your symptoms. Let us know if you experience pain, swelling, bleeding, a broken or knocked-out tooth, and when it started.
Your symptoms determine how urgently you need to be seen and how long the appointment needs to be.
Your dentist examines the area, takes imaging where clinically required and explains what is causing it.
Know what can be done today, what can wait, and the fee for each before anything proceeds.
Hold the tooth by the crown and avoid touching the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently without scrubbing. If you can safely reposition it in the socket, do so; otherwise, keep it moist in milk or saliva and seek urgent dental treatment. A baby tooth should not be replanted. Healthdirect advises getting to a dentist or hospital urgently and, where possible, within about 30 minutes for a knocked-out adult tooth.

Emergency dental visits are rarely planned. You will be told the examination fee when you book, and any treatment to resolve the problem is quoted in writing before it starts.
We can't quote your health fund rebate over the phone or online, as every policy is different. Bring your fund card to your appointment and swipe it at reception, and we'll check your available benefit on the spot. Payment plans are provided by third parties, so eligibility and provider terms apply.

Some of the signs may include severe tooth pain, facial swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, dental trauma, or a knocked-out tooth, which may all require prompt assessment. How urgent it is depends on your symptoms and clinical circumstances.
We aim to accommodate patients needing urgent assessment during opening hours, and we hold time for urgent concerns where we can. Availability depends on your symptoms and the schedule that day, so call as early as you can.
The examination, an OPG X-ray where clinically required, and your diagnosis explained with the options set out. Reception confirms the examination fee when you book, so you know it before you come in. Treatment such as a filling, root canal treatment, an extraction or drainage is quoted separately before it goes ahead.
An emergency department is the right place for serious injuries, uncontrolled bleeding, facial trauma, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or rapidly spreading infection. For other dental concerns, a dental provider is usually more appropriate.
No. New patients are welcome for urgent dental care. Call or request a call back with your symptoms and we'll fit you in around the day's appointments where availability allows.
Yes. Afterpay, Zip and Humm are available to help spread the cost of larger treatment, and some patients may be eligible for early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds, which is assessed by the ATO.
These conditions apply to the prices, offers, Price Beat and treatment warranty referred to on this page. If anything here is unclear, ask reception before your appointment.
We aim to accommodate patients requiring urgent dental assessment during opening hours. Availability depends on the nature of your dental concern and the clinical schedule on the day, so same-day assessment cannot be assured for every enquiry.
We are not an after-hours emergency service. If your concern occurs while the practice is closed, contact an appropriate after-hours dental provider or, for serious or life-threatening symptoms, attend your nearest hospital emergency department or call 000.
The urgent examination fee is confirmed with you at the time of booking. It covers the urgent examination, an OPG X-ray where clinically required, and your diagnosis explained. It does not include treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment, extractions, drainage or prescriptions.
Any treatment recommended is quoted in writing before it proceeds. Fees are current at the time of publication and may change.
General first-aid information on this page is not a diagnosis and does not replace an individual clinical assessment. If you are unsure how urgent your symptoms are, seek advice from an appropriate healthcare provider.
Applies to valid written treatment plans from other Sydney dental practices, presented to the clinic before any treatment commences. Price beats cannot be applied retrospectively to work already completed.
The competing plan must be current, itemised (with ADA item numbers where applicable), priced in AUD, show the practice name and contact details, and be prepared by a registered dental practitioner after an examination. It must be comparable — the same or clinically equivalent procedures, materials and scope. The clinic may require an in-person consultation to confirm clinical equivalence.
Not available for quotes that are incomplete, verbal, expired, bundled with unrelated services, or that include promotional add-ons unrelated to the proposed treatment. Not to be combined with other discounts, and not redeemable for cash. The price beat remains at the clinic’s discretion and may be declined where matching is not commercially viable or not clinically appropriate.
All treatment is subject to clinical assessment. Where a different treatment is recommended as safer or more suitable, the 10% Price Beat does not apply, because it applies only to comparable, clinically appropriate treatment plans.
A workmanship warranty is available on selected treatments, for the periods published by the practice:
Warranties are linked to the treatment performed at a Dentist Near Me clinic and apply only where you attend 6-monthly check-ups and cleans at Dentist Near Me Merrylands or Toongabbie and follow all care instructions. Cleans completed at other clinics void the warranty, as do missed maintenance visits, smoking (for implants) and failure to wear retainers (for aligners).
Cover is limited to material or workmanship issues. It does not cover new or progressive dental disease, trauma, accidental damage, or complications from not following post-treatment advice. Where a filling is later assessed as unsuitable and alternative treatment such as a crown is advised, the filling warranty does not apply. Warranties are non-transferable and apply to the original patient and treatment location. If a claim is made, the clinic determines the appropriate remedy after clinical assessment.
Afterpay, Zip and Humm are provided by third parties. Approval, eligibility, instalment amounts and fees are set by the provider, not by the practice. Early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds is assessed by the ATO, not by us.
All treatment is provided by AHPRA-registered practitioners following an individual clinical assessment. All dental treatment carries risks, which your dentist will discuss with you before treatment proceeds.
Advertised prices are current at the time of publication and may be changed or withdrawn. Individual results may vary. Some images are stock photos or models, not actual patients.
